What are Nendoroids?

If your thinking about the picture above when you heard the term Nendoroid, then you’re absolutely incorrect. Don’t worry though, since I’m a victim myself. I thought it was the latest OS version of Android, but Nendoroids has completely nothing to do with that.
Nendoroids are resin anime figures with oversized heads which usually stands 14 cm in height. They are well detailed and really cute. I’m pretty amazed how they perfectly portray their characters depsite of their distortions. These cute anime collectibles are products of Good Smile Company and was founded last May 2011. This may be your first time hearing about them, but they are gaining a lot of fame lately especially for anime enthusiasts.
Here’s a short video of Good Smile’s masterpiece:
The best thing about these anime figures is that their faces and body parts are interchangeable, allowing the owners to use their creativity in creating the character’s best pose, even changing the Nendoroid’s facial expression. You can even use parts from other figures if you want to. See image below:

These anime figures already started to penetrate anime stores in the Philippines. But for anime collectors, please be careful that you’re not buying the imitation or bootleg version of Nendoroids, because there’s really a big difference.
