Last Monday, April 9, 2012, the cast of ABS-CBN’s Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition 4 was finally revealed. Among the 15 housemates, the Philippines cosplay community definitely had their eyes focused on the “Cosplay Cutie” of Iloilo, Myrtle Gail Sarrosa.

Oh yeah! Alodia Gosiengfiao, Asia’s cosplay goddess, is having her birthday bash this coming March 31, 2012 at SM North Edsa. I’m sure a lot of cosplayers in the Philippines will be there, so put on your best costumes and show the cosplay goddess that you’re worth her attention (I hope that’s me *grin*)

I’ve been to a lot of unique birthday celebrations before, but last February 16, 2012 was one of the most meaningful birthday concepts that I was able to experience. Miss Carina Crisostomo celebrated her 25th birthday in the Philippine Children’s Medical Center (PCMC) and spent her special day not just in cosplaying, but in sharing love to the patients and their family as well.

The image above is an event held by Naruto Cosplayers Philippines (NCPH) last year, 2011, wherein they challenged all cosplayers to pray for Japan who suffered from an earthquake and tsunami.
This is what I really appreciate about the cosplayers in the Philippines, that even though cosplaying is just an adapted culture, Filipinos know how to blend the nature of their own country in doing cosplays, and right now, they don’t just do it for fun and personal interests, but they do it for a reason.
